Proactive Mental Health Support

This is why StudentVIP developed the I.M. Well program. I.M. Well is built to support and augment current campus and community resources and respond to critical mental health situations that occur outside of business hours and off campus and abroad.

A private report in 2019 found that, on average,

University students in Canada must wait

a month

to receive

mental health support

In many cases,

this extends to

3 months

In a student's life, that is approaching an entire semester.

StudentVIP Logo

Financial Coaching

Recognizing that financial stress can significantly impact a student's academic and personal life, we offer free financial consultations. Students can speak to a financial consultant through I.M. Well on budgeting, financial planning, income tax, debt management, and retirement planning.

Personalized Legal Services

The program includes a complete legal service. The program features a free 30-minute telephonic consultation and an additional 60-minute in-person referral consultation if required. Further access to local lawyers is available at a 30% discount. Our legal services cover many issues, including tenant rights, general legal concerns, family planning, and wills, aiming to safeguard our students' legal well-being.

Social and Mental Health Counselling

We believe in supporting our student's mental health with immediacy and accessibility. Our 24/7 Student Counselling Program (SCP) offers access to master's level counsellors with real-time translation services in over 240 languages. No issue is too big or small for I.M. Well. We encourage students to seek help for various personal, social, and academic challenges, including stress, academic pressures, relationships, culture shock, financial worries, etc. The program provides short-term counseling and, if necessary, refers students to school or community support systems for in-depth care.

Interpreter Services

We acknowledge the diversity of our graduate student community. To support our international students, we offer confidential, real-time translation services in 240 languages over the phone. This service assists in effective communication between students, faculty, staff, and other vital services like healthcare, ensuring no student feels alienated due to language barriers.

Support After Graduation

Our commitment to our students continues after their graduation. As long as the program is in force at your Campus, graduates will have continued access to the complete Student Assistance Program. This is an invaluable support tool for our alums as they transition into their professional lives.

Health & Life Coaching

Our program offers individualized phone-based health coaching to help members achieve optimal well-being. Participants can benefit from up to 3 hours of support from a registered dietician. TESTIMONIALS

StudentVIP Logo

"

StudentVIP has created a student service and support infrastructure on campus that is dedicated to providing on-demand health care to both domestic and international students at Dalhousie. The international student program our students have through StudentVIP is robust with high-levels of coverage in key areas including mental health as well as 24/7 multilingual counselling support through the I.M. Well program. We are connected to our students during a crisis through the app which also connects students to their health benefits and digital health cards, making their student experience safe and more enjoyable. We have direct access to a dedicated local Account Manager as well as the StudentVIP Director, who are responsive and where both critical and day-to-day inquiries are handled with care.If our staff, including University Administration and Campus Health Administration, need to clarify coverage, services or need support, we know we can count on StudentVIP.

"

I am happy to share my experience with StudentVIP. We represent wonderful students on four campuses with diverse needs and experiences. The AUSU Board is determined to always do our best to serve those students. I have spoken to many other benefit providers as a matter of ongoing due diligence, I have spoken to many of my peers; still, AUSU is proud to work with StudentVIP to meet the supplemental health care needs of the students we serve. The actual benefits offered are great, of course. The website and apps work well and the electronic benefit card is great.Even more than that, the customer service is extraordinary. This is the standard of customer service we demand for our students, and we have never been disappointed! In addition to our own interactions, we actively encourage our students to complain if there is any concern when they reach out directly to StudentVIP, and I am happy to report I have received zero complaints. You simply cannot do better than that. I would be happy to speak with anyone about our experience with StudentVIP, they are our true partners.
